What a year 2023 was for us!  We want to thank our team, clients, subscribers, and Zoho for making that all possible.  This past year we:

Zoho’s 2023 Year-In-Review

Zoho had a phenomenal year for 2023.  Below we picked out some of the most major and notable news from each month (and not all of them are ChatGPT related).

Before diving into the update highlights, lets look at Zoho’s achievements this past year.

  • Revenue soared to another $1 billion+ mark.
  • Zoho’s workforce expanded by an impressive 4,000 employees, bringing the total headcount to over 16,000.
  • Zoho FSM, Zoho Practice, and Marketing Automation 2.0 were all released this year.
  • And the biggest milestone for Zoho this past year, they hit 100 million users adding over 20 million new Zoho users for 2023. #100millionstrong

2023 Wishlist Results

Each year, we set forth with a list of hopes and aspirations. While some of these wishes come to fruition, others remain just out of reach, and some are not fulfilled. In 2022, we saw two of our wishes fulfilled, came tantalizingly close with three, and had twelve that unfortunately did not materialize. Let’s take a look at how our wishes fared in 2023:

  • Wishes Granted (2)
    • Integrate Zoho Notebook with CRM 
    • Finalize roll-out of Zoho Field Service Management, and flesh out functionality
  • Wishes Getting Closer (1)
    • Focus on the core functionality of core apps (CRM, Desk, Projects, Books, Analytics), limit development on the “shiny” objects
  • Wishes Denied (3)
    • Add more data centers or source bandwidth for AWS, Azure or Google
    • Rich text in CRM note fields
    • Bring Zoho Voice into price-parity with RingCentral
      • Currently more expensive, and you have to pay per minute

2024 Wishlist

  • Increase bandwidth and compute across datacenters
  • Simplify Zoho Voice pricing structure to remove per-minute charges
    • Add native SMS functionality to Zoho Voice
  • Add Rich-text support to CRM Notes and multiline fields (or new field type)
  • Integrate Zoho CRM, Forms, and SalesIQ so that Zoho Form submissions can connect a CRM Lead to a SalesIQ Visitor
  • Simplification of Zoho Bundles and application suite
    • Zoho One as a single bundle?
      • Does there really need to be two pricing tiers for this?
    • Campaigns VS Marketing Automation? Bigin VS CRM? SalesIQ VS Pagesense?
  • Permissions configuration updates in Zoho Sign, Forms, and Survey
