• Zoho Updates Apps for macOS Big Sur

  • Apple’s macOS Big Sur is here, and Zoho has updated 6 apps that are ready now – Bigin, Books, Invoice, Expense, Inventory, and Notebook.

• Zoho Recruit October Update Roundup

  • 5 updates in October, including special postings for jobs that are defined for remote workers.

• Gamescope Is Now Part of Zoho Desk

  • With Zoho Motivator going away, it looks like Gamescope is going to be the replacement.  This has been in CRM for years, but you can now turn it on in Zoho Desk.

  • By default, Gamescope is disabled. To enable Gamescope:

    • Click the Setup icon in the top bar.

    • Click Gamescope under the General menu.

    • Turn the Gamescope toggle to ON.

• Adding An Account Name From Another Module Will Now Pop Up a Wizard

  • This change will allow for a more detailed creation of an account from Contacts, Accounts, Deals, Quotes, Sales Order, Invoices, and Cases.

• API Notation Changes in Zoho Sign for Zoho CRM

  • Zoho will be changing from dot-based (.) notations to double underscore-based (__) notations across all API names and components in Zoho CRM. This will result in the removal of both the dot (.) and the double underscore (__) notations used for the default fields in custom modules created by other Zoho extensions such as Zoho Sign for Zoho CRM.

• Zoho Meeting Updates

  • A slew of new updates for Zoho Meeting and Webinar.  We haven’t tested this out yet, but it also includes a “more reliable with a more robust recording engine”.

• 10 New Extensions for Zoho Analytics

  • This announcement has some important connectors including Shopify and YouTube.

Notable Mobile Updates

• Zoho Writer – iOS, Android, and iPadOS Updates

  • A nice update to Zoho Writer that includes Page View changes, faster load times and more.

Implementation of the Week

• Scheduled Mass Auto-deduplication Script in CRM

  • Script runs on a daily scheduled in CRM to find and merge duplicate accounts

  • Function dynamically filters out accounts defined as Customers, or Active Prospects

  • Identified duplicates have their data joined into one master record, prioritizing filled in fields to minimize data loss

  • Finally, the script flags deduplicated records so that they do not re-enter the process again

  • Trying to add custom filters to your reports in Zoho Books.  Then look no further.  Reporting Tags will allow you to drill down based upon custom transaction tags.
